Believe…Volunteer…Change

The Siwar Al Hussein Volunteering Program is the King Hussein Cancer Foundation’s volunteer program that allows individuals to contribute their time and effort to support the fight against cancer. The program’s name Siwar (which means bracelet in Arabic) symbolizes the unification of people in one cohesive circle to support our noble mission.

Siwar Al Hussein Volunteering Program Activities

Volunteers contribute to the King Hussein Cancer Foundation and Center's success by completing a variety of tasks. They play a key part in a variety of initiatives and activities aimed at increasing awareness or providing direct patient support. Some of these tasks include:

  • Patient-related activities within the center, such as pushing wheelchairs and assisting visitors in finding clinics, pharmacies, laboratories, and other locations.
  • Supporting activities such as the summer camp.
  • Playroom initiatives to entertain and care for the children.
  • Office tasks at the King Hussein Cancer Foundation to prepare for different events and campaigns and activities.
  • External activities aimed at raising awareness and fundraising, such as attending seminars, workshops, and training sessions, as well as distributing brochures.
  • Other activities.

Requirements for Participation

In general, the volunteer must be at least 15 years old and not older than 65 years.

Requirements for volunteering in patient-related activities at the center:

  • The volunteer must be at least 18 years old, except for summer camp activities.
  • The volunteer must obtain a medical evaluation to confirm the volunteer's health safety.
  • The volunteer must complete a minimum of 30 volunteer hours.
