Achievements:
We doubled the number of transplants over the last 2 years from 10-120 to 238 transplants in 2018.
We implemented the haploidentical transplantation program and offered transplants for high-risk myeloma and lymphoma patients at KHCC using different conditioning regimens and using peripheral blood graft instead of using bone marrow harvest in haplo-transplants.
We actively participated in collaborative trials internationally, like A phase III randomized open-label multi-center study of ruxolitinib vs. best available therapy in patients with corticosteroid-refractory chronic graft vs host disease after allogeneic stem cell transplantation (REACH 3), Local Co-investigator. Oncology Clinical Protocol CINC424D2301 (INCB 18424-365), Release date 20-Dec-2017.
We started testing the benefits of post-allogeneic Azacitidine for high-risk MDS and AML to decrease the risk of relapse; we treated around 14 patients with good efficacy and safety data.
