The University of Jordan in Aqaba and (KHCF) Organize “Walk for Life” Supporting Cancer Patients

 
Aqaba - On behalf of the President of the University of Jordan in Aqaba, Professor Doctor Musa Al Lozi, Vice President Doctor Marouf Khalaf sponsored the “Walk for Life” initiative in the attendance of Vice Governor of Aqaba Mr. Hussein Al Shawish, Mrs. Nisreen Qatamish, Director General of KHCF, and representatives of the sponsoring parties. The initiative was organized by the University of Jordan in Aqaba in cooperation with the KHCF, in order to fundraise to support patients at the King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC) from all over the kingdom, Aqaba in particular.
 
Mr. Khalaf, the sponsor spokesperson said that according to the mission of the Jordanian University in Aqaba to strengthen the relationship with the civil community institutions in Aqaba and to activate its role as a scientific, educational and developmental center, it is keen to spread awareness regarding the importance of volunteering and committing to social responsibilities.
 
Mr. Khalaf added: "We are meeting today in order to accomplish a great humanitarian goal, in which we display solidarity with citizens of our country, our siblings, children, and loved ones, who are diagnosed with cancer, and this exemplary initiative is merely an expression of hope and the culmination of great community efforts, exerted to present all forms of support for cancer patients and their families, and to stand by them during their ordeal.”.
 
In addition, Mrs. Nisreen Qatamish praised the role of the University of Jordan in raising cancer awareness, stating: "We thank all our partners for supporting this noble initiative, and we stress that such events reflect a positive understanding of the importance of unifying efforts among all sectors to support cancer patients. We call upon all universities across the governorates to join us and instill kindness in students by encouraging them to participate in spreading hope among our patients. ".
 
Mrs. Qatamish thanked the companies that supported the initiative, particularly the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), the Aqaba International Industrial Estate, the Arab Fertilizers and Chemicals Industries - KEMAPCO, the Renaissance Hotel, Movenpick Aqaba Resort, and InterContinental Aqaba Resort, who have generously supported this humanitarian initiative, resulting in its success and the accomplishment of its virtuous objectives.
