KHCF Receives Qatar Charity Delegation
Amman, April 8, 2021 - The King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF) received a delegation from Qatar Charity with the aim of developing and strengthening their existing partnership to better support cancer patients receiving treatment at the King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC). The delegation included Mr. Muhammad Al Fadalah, Director of Field Office Affairs, and Dr. Munther Hajj Hassan, Qatar Charity's representative in Jordan.
Since the strategic partnership began in 2017, KHCF and Qatar Charity have had numerous achievements. Together, they have covered the treatment costs for 116 cancer patients (including refugees) through KHCF’s Goodwill and Zakat Funds, which provide support for underprivileged patients at KHCC.
During the meeting at KHCC, Mrs. Nisreen Qatamish, Director General of KHCF noted the strong relationship between Qatar and Jordan, stating "We are grateful for Qatar Charity’s visit, as it is one of the most important charity organizations in the region with an admirable and noble track record of humanitarian work. We particularly appreciate the continuous support it provides to cancer patients by giving them the opportunity to receive the best treatment at one of the Middle East’s preeminent cancer centers."
Mr. Muhammad Al Fadalah affirmed the depth of Qatari-Jordanian relations while highlighting Qatar Charity's keenness to unify humanitarian efforts by fostering effective partnerships with civil institutions and charities in Jordan. At the same time, he noted that enabling cancer patients to complete their treatment helps ensure that their mental state is also healthy, which helps to bear the burden of disease.
He said that "Qatar Charity's support of cancer patients through KHCF is part of its interest in the health field - one of its main areas of work – supporting patients’ medical care and providing the means to enable them to lead normal lives.”
