KHCF KHCC: A Year of Unwavering Commitment in 2024
Amman, January 2025 – Under the leadership of HRH Princess Ghida Talal, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF) and Center (KHCC), the year 2024 marked a series of significant achievements in the fight against cancer. KHCF and KHCC remained steadfast in their mission to provide world-class cancer treatment and comprehensive patient care to thousands of individuals.
In 2024, KHCC provided care for 35,000 patients of all ages, demonstrating continued excellence in cancer treatment, patient-centered care, and infrastructure expansion. A major milestone was the inauguration of the new Radiation Oncology Building by HM Queen Rania Al Abdullah, which significantly increased KHCC’s treatment capacity. Additionally, KHCC made history by performing the first laser-assisted robotic brain tumor surgery in the Arab world, alongside the introduction of CAR-T cell therapy for leukemia patients, a cutting-edge form of immunotherapy.
Thanks to the generosity of donors, 1,298 underprivileged patients received life-saving treatment covered through KHCF’s Goodwill and Zakat funds. KHCC also continued its commitment to providing care for cancer patients from Gaza, ensuring they receive uninterrupted treatment.
On the research front, 272 Arab scientists from across the world submitted their applications for the King Hussein Cancer Research Award, reflecting KHCC’s ongoing efforts to advance cancer research in the region.
Beyond medical treatment, KHCC remained dedicated to holistic patient care, with over 9,000 patients benefiting from psychosocial support. Educational programs continued to empower young patients, with the Back to School Program and University Scholarships’ Program helping more than 100 students resume their studies. Programs for pediatric patients, such as the Summer Camp and the Dreams Come True Program, provided children with joy and a sense of normalcy during their treatment.
Raising awareness remained a top priority, with nationwide and regional breast cancer awareness campaigns, encouraging thousands of women across Jordan to undergo mammogram screenings.
In line with its goal to make cancer care accessible to as many people as possible, KHCF expanded its Cancer Care Insurance Program (CCI), which now provides coverage to over 200,000 individuals and corporate subscribers.
