KHCF and Carrefour Concluded their Fundraising Campaign for Underprivileged Women
Amman, Jordan: The King Hussein Cancer Foundation and Carrefour, managed by Majid Al Futtaim in Jordan, concluded the tenth fundraising campaign to support awareness efforts for early detection of breast cancer. This campaign coincided with the King Hussein Cancer Foundation’s Jordan Breast Cancer Program campaign.
The campaign continued during the months of October and November 2022, with cashiers at all 53 Carrefour branches encouraging customers to add 10 optional piasters to their bills in order to fund mammogram tests for underprivileged women.
Mrs. Nisreen Qatamish, Director General of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation, said, "The continuous cooperation with Carrefour achieves positive results that support our efforts in emphasizing the importance of women undergoing mammograms, especially after reaching the age of forty, as the examination increases the chances of detecting breast cancer in early stages, thereby increasing the recovery rates to 90 percent, God willing."
"In conclusion of the good endeavors, Carrefour, with its management and staff, praises the great contribution of its customers, to reaffirm Carrefour's commitment to supporting and assisting the local community through its branches spread throughout the Kingdom," said Najeeb Haddad, Regional Director of Carrefour Jordan at Majid Al Futtaim Retail. And, for the tenth year in a row, we value our partnership with the King Hussein Cancer Foundation and Center, through a donation campaign to support women who are unable to conduct early detection examinations for breast cancer."
