The Zakat Fund is an integral part of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation’s (KHCF) Goodwill Fund. Donations made to the Zakat Fund are deposited in a separate bank account at the Jordan Islamic Bank. Additionally, Zakat donations are spent on medical treatment within one year of their donation date. These steps are taken by KHCF to ensure the proper application of Zakat Fatwa requirements.
Zakat Fatwa
The King Hussein Cancer Foundation received a Fatwa from the General IFTAA’ Department in Jordan (Fatwa No.: 2/2006 Date: 22/3/2006), by which the Foundation is eligible to receive Zakat donations for the treatment of underprivileged cancer patients.
Disbursement of Zakat Funds
Zakat funds are spent within a year to cover the treatment of underprivileged Muslim cancer patients, regardless of their age or gender. These patients are not covered by any health insurance, and are unable to bear the expenses of their treatment.
The Zakat Fund plays a vital role in saving the lives of thousands of cancer patients who are waiting for a chance for a cure. With the hope that donations will be available to begin their treatment journey towards recovery, God willing.
