Radiofrequency Ablation System

Gastroenterology Department -Endoscopy Unit

Price per device 40,000 JOD

Machine Description:

This device is crucial for treating Barrett's esophagus, a precancerous condition often encountered after early cancer removal. Without ablation of residual Barrett's esophagus, patients face an increased risk of recurrent cancer and dysplasia. The current standard of care includes endoscopic resection of early Barrett's neoplasia followed by ablation of residual Barrett's esophagus.

At KHCC, we've been treating patients with Barrett's esophagus and related neoplasia. However, without this device, patients must seek treatment abroad. We anticipate treating about 10 patients annually, with each patient requiring 2-5 ablation sessions, totaling approximately 50 procedures per year. As we introduce this service, we expect increased referrals from other hospitals, as this treatment is currently unavailable in Jordan.
