MRI stands for “magnetic resonance imaging”. This imager uses radio waves and strong magnets to create a view of bones, tissues and organs. MRI scans are ideal for obtaining a detailed, in-depth look at tissues or organs. Doctors use MRIs to diagnose mainly several conditions including: brain problems, breast cancer, tumors, and abnormalities in joints and other organs.
This machine will serve both male and female patients of all ages, and with most types of diseases treated at KHCC. It has the capacity to do approximately 3,000 exams per year, and will help to ensure a smooth workflow with its efficient time frame of 30 minutes per exam. In addition, there are new applications for the MRI machine with better image quality.
