KHCF Honors Volunteers of the 2019 SIWAR Program
AMMAN, December 10, 2019 - The King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF) held a recognition event for the volunteers of the 2019 SIWAR Volunteer Program, in appreciation of their direct and indirect efforts in helping patients at the King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC) by supporting the KHCF’s programs and campaigns.
The celebration was held at the Grand Hyatt Amman, where the Director General of the KHCF, Mrs. Nisreen Qatamish, honored the efforts of the Housing Bank, the official sponsor of the SIWAR Program, represented by its Chief Operations Officer, Mr. Marwan Al-Khouli.
During the ceremony, award plaques were presented the SIWAR program partners, including volunteers from the Housing Bank, the All Jordan Youth Commission, the International Federation of Medical Students' Associations (IFMSA), and the Jordan Pharmaceutical Students' Association (JPSA).
Certificates of appreciation were also awarded to two hundred volunteers in appreciation of their dedication to many tasks that serve the interests of patients of the KHCC, including participating in awareness campaigns, fundraising, and assisting patients and their families at the Center, in addition to providing logistical support for all activities organized by the KHCF and KHCC.
Mrs. Nisreen Qatamish thanked the volunteers for their effective contributions throughout the year, as their time and effort had a profound impact on solidifying the concept of social solidarity, which is necessary in the fight against cancer, and making a real difference in the lives of cancer patients.
The KHCF first launched the SIWAR Volunteer Program in 2007, to provide a supportive environment to fight cancer, and to help the KHCF and KHCC succeed in their programs and initiatives in Jordan and across the region, as the program provides an opportunity for volunteers to prove that the "culture of giving" is rooted within our Jordanian society, and that volunteering is the driving force for change.
